I can't believe they let Cristobal go. Their AD had his thumb up his rear, and let personal issues cloud his judgment. Cristobal took the worst team in the nation and turned them into champions.. he could have done it again even with the down year.

No comment. :(

Amazing what egos inside an athletic department can do at the expense

of those who have no say whatsoever and yet that same group which schools want

to fill their stadiums.

What ODU, UTSA and Charlotte are doing in the area of season ticket plans and sales is outside of phenomenal

and last I checked, we will soon be competing against all 3.

GMG!

Hmmm, the coach responsible for three of their higher ranked recruits gets fired after the kids sign on the dotted line, oh and he coaches the DB's. Let's see, we need a DB coach and a recruiting ace to replace Gaines.

Surely they are not out selling our group over at the AD here.

"Garcia tried to make a splashy hire, but he ended up getting 59-year-old Ron Turner, who was 35-57 at Illinois"

Copycats!

Difference is that Turner was never successful.

Took Illinois to a 10-2 record, Big Ten title and Sugar Bowl in 2001. Also took them to the Micron PC bowl in 1999. Finished with a losing record at Illinois. Gee, aside from leading his team to a conference title and BCS bowl he sounds a lot like Mac.

I stand corrected, but in reading his bio, his career as a head coach sounds alot like Dickey. Got a good class that led him to a couple bowl games and a conference title, then got lazy and let it fall apart.

Multiple sources have told me that Garcia and Cristobal had a terrible relationship for years and when the AD had his first opportunity to get rid of the coach, he seized it after the Panthers' 3-9 season last fall.

That seems... familiar.
