You might have heard about how Arkansas snagged the #1 RB commit, Alex Collins, on Monday. However, at the signing-day event at his high school, he was a no-show. It turns out that his momma stole his LOI so he couldn't sign it/fax it.

The kid had been living with his coach.

Shows how bad his family situation is.

I can understand why he wants to get as far away as he can.

If this is true isn't there some legal course the kid and coach could have taken to exempt this requirement for a parent signature?

Happens every year. Twists and turns at the final stretch. There is motivation for dishonesty and manipulation at every level of the signing game. I can remember when the only dirty game was played in the rain on a grass field.
