Coming in at number 21... Tony Mithell

Mitchell had one of his best games of the season last Saturday against Florida Atlantic (24 points, 8 rebounds) before dropping in two more uninspired showings -- a 10-point, 7-turnover performance in a loss against Middle Tennessee followed by a 3-for-9 shooting night against Arkansas-Little Rock. Scouts aren't sure what to do with him at this point. Everyone believes he has NBA talent, but there are legitimate questions about how much he really wants to do anything with it.

With the exception of Roger Franklin, I think this is the most uninspired team we have fielded in years...I think that Tony, being young, has let the malaise of the team affect him and his performance.

I feel like PJ stepped up as a true and I have seen progression from Jordan as he is starting to realize he has to penetrate to score. Niko has progressed but he is graduating. Roger is consistent and sometimes Tony shows up other times not at all. I have seen little else. Injuries have hurt us for sure but I think they hurt more in terms of chemistry. Team has no outside shooting and weak rebounding which is a recipe for disaster.

Drex, I agree with most of your post. However, had Tony not had to sit out, he would be midway through his junior season here, at another university, or even in the NBA by now. I agree it is hard to not get touches, and have 3 bodies on you when you do. But nobody should come close to him on the defensive end in our conference. So, how long is he going to be "young"? He should be mature enough (and hungry) by now to step it up, especially with a "millions of dollars future" at stake. He has shown he can turn it on, but can also turn it off at will.
