Absolutely New Orleans. Please, God, don't let that fall on September 14th or October 12th. No way in hell I can make road trips those weekends, unless I fly in the morning of, and come back immediately after the game, and what the hell kind of fun is that?

MEAN GREEN FOOTBALL TEAM

and its terrific Texas fans!

Starting Sunday, December 15, and continuing for the Victory Celebration after the game on the 17th, Fritzel's proudly welcomes the Football Champions of the Sun Belt Conference for 2002, the North Texas "Mean Green." Congratulations Coach Dickey, on the crown, and on being named Conference Coach of the Year for the second straight season! You guys played as hard as one of our trumpet players!

Fritzel's welcomes all North Texas fans and friends

GO MEAN GREEN. . . BEAT THOSE BEARCATS!

We're working up a special drink called the MEAN GREEN PUNCH, just like the one you're going to deliver to Cincy on Tuesday night! After the game, come watch a replay of the victory on our big screen TV with us, and have a MEAN GREEN PUNCH of your own! Click the Golden Trumpet to get a map of the quarter showing where Fritzel's is located.
Fritzel's Jazz Pub is located in the center of the French Quarter in New Orleans, at 733 Bourbon Street.

Map and directions: It is just two blocks "away from the river" from Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral. Convenient public parking is available along Decatur Street.

Since Tulsa is the only road trip I have a realistic shot of making next year . . . Tulsa it is. Although I'm with Deep on the "every game's a road trip" thing.

Plus, I'm more psyched to be in a conference with Tulsa than any other team in C-USA. Too bad it's going to be short-lived.

Tulsa. Lots of cultural places to go and visit. Nice road trip.

Tulane would be a pretty close second for much of the same reasons.

Since neither me or my wife gamble, La Tech is a "down-there-and-back" trip.

Next year, we are hoping that the UTEP game will be on Nov 1st, so that we can stay in Las Cruces and attend the "Dia de los Muertos" celebration at Old Messia. Plus, there are some great wineries in the area.

Really? Ruston over New Orleans??

Maybe our fans are as stupid as GLGreatness says...

closer...i can drink all day while i'm there...can gamble and continue drinking after the game...don't have to worry where my hotel is in the quarter so that i can walk to a bar...a bar is the casino...it's a no brainer for me...i may make the new orleans trip, but i don't want to drive 8 plus hours and pay for a hotel...the ruston trip is closer and i get free rooms in shreveport...

'free' is debatable.
