Current and future members will have a lot to talk about before next week’s NCAA Convention, also in Dallas. San Diego State is planning to attend the meetings despite reportedly talking to the Mountain West about remaining in that conference.

The more I think about SDSU they may choose to stay in the NBE and carve out their own identity. Remember TCU and Boise were always tied together. Well now SDSU and Boise seem to be tied together primarily due to region versus performance. But to me Boise is more interested in regional rivalries and they are still the golden child of college football. They don't have anywhere to go other than to BCS games or the Big 12. SDSU does not have that luxury. They are still an unknown in football but bring it in hoops. I would listen too if I were SDSU and who knows they may choose to align with the national conference afterall.
