It seems the most fashionable excuse trotted out is that "this team just isn't that good. They weren't good last year." Or, the similiar "They were overhyped. They read their press clippings." So, apparently we are to believe that Walton, the conveniently injured and not active player, is the only player on a team full of D1 athletes (several who were highly rated by MULTIPLE national publications) that can compete against the juggernauts in the Sun Belt? Benford is so hamstrung by these lazy, incorrigible kids that he just can't work his master plan? We should buy that some of you could see this when JJ was here.

So, my question is this. Where was your crystal ball in October? Why weren't you warning us "hey, pump the brakes. I could clearly see when they went to the conference final that this team is fatally flawed." Why didn't you fill up the comments section of SI.com and hoopscoop.com telling them to stop vastly overrating us? Hell, I would have settled for a Scooby one liner of "And we would have won too...if if wasn't for those meddling kids." You know, since you claim you could see it last year.

We surely could have been saved a lot of grief is the resident geniuses had let us know that this brilliant coaching hire was gonna be sabotaged by this roster.

I'm pretty sure most of us said this team can not shoot. Add to that our only semi threat from outside played one minute this year. Add the hope that pattton would be a threat, not yet. The push over the hype hump was the late add of a big east caliber player that is sitting out. I had hopes Clarke would at least be a 33% threat when teams played us zone, not close now.

With the players we have left now and the level we are playing at we should be a .500 win team. Add, or subtracted Benford we are a bad team. We have nice pieces but are a bad team now.

If I had a crystal ball and could predicate exactly how good teams would be every year I would be a rich man.

I am definitely not clairvoyant, I didn't see anyway this team could be this bad. This team is at this time worse than any team that played for JJ and I think the horrible Trilli teams would be a challenge for them.
