Look for #26 for the Louisville Cardinals, Zed Evans, playing tonight in the Sugar Bowl against Florida on ESPN. He will be transferring here following the completion of the Sugar Bowl game and hopefully will be a key contributor in 2013 to the Mean Green.

RB Chris Johnson from Florida just punched Zed in the face and got ejected.

And Zed kept his cool; maturity? Strong would probably kick his butt if he retaliated...so would Mac.

Zed just made a great hit on kickoff too...

Florida never struck me as a dirty team, but 3 shots to the head in that first quarter (not all called), taunting (including after said head shots), and then 2 personal fouls on the second half onside kick make them look like Miami.

Special teams is so underrated as a part of the game. If Ellis does nothing more than play special teams for us, but plays like he did last night, he will be a great addition.

He will have to sit out next year, unless he is graduating this year.

      Offensive Woes

      People loved Leach and they watched him raise Tech up to #2 that one miraculous time. But that system is only meant to compete over time against teams with less talent on defense. Whenever it faces ANYONE with legitimated defensive talent or coaching, it almost always loses. Tech, Wazzu, and MSU were always the same thing under Leach. But people adored Leach’s quirkiness and randomness, so he got a pass. These Leach disciples aren’t ever gonna win anything of note. And I completely blame Leach for his influence on turning TX HS football into glorified 7-on-7. Today, linemen and defense are hardly produced at any decent level in this state. Why? Because this crap doesn’t condone hitting in practice or focusing on defense. Instead, we get basketball scores for the winning teams.

      I would like to follow the Indiana model of recent success with Cignetti from James Madison. Hire a successful DC that has a winning environment and bring a bunch of his defense with him.
