"Last month, he addressed the former by firing coach Ellis Johnson after an 0-12 season, even with $2.1 million remaining on his contract, and he had an eye on the latter when he moved USM's 2013 game against Nebraska from Hattiesburg, Miss., to Lincoln, Neb., for a payout of ... $2.1 million."

Seriously... they get paid over 2 million dollars for playing at Nebraska?

Also check out the cancellation clause in the BYU-USM agreement. Any lawyers out there that can tell me whether or not "an act of God" is a usual inclusion in such an agreement when making reference to permissible reasons to cancel a game?

I am thinking that we should have used this "Act of God" clause on the hurricane that hit this year when we played LSU.

No, they had either a 1-for-1 or a 2-for-1 with Nebraska that is now a 2 or 3 game series all at Nebraska. So they are getting either about 1 million per game or 700k per game.

We composers use this language all the time in legal contract writing with any entity that's performing our music, but normally in Commission situations.....

....as in, we're excused from our submission deadline of the music if an Act of God intervenes.
