Yes, will definitely be more attractive than ever. Still, I think you can beat out JUCOs for the vast majority of kids as a school like North Texas. FCS and DII will have more trouble.
Either way, definitely will incentivize getting your freshmen on the field as a four-year school.
I don't care about blame. There's enough to go around.
I'm fine with college football players being paid and them getting more transfer opportunities, but the way both of those things are currently implemented has been a Hindenburg-level disaster for college football.
Uncontrolled and unaccountable money from boosters and a transfer portal during the season are terrible ideas.
Valid point that will have to be weighed against the level of coaching and the facilities available to develop them at the juco. They will not have the same level of fitness training and access to nutrition programs. But I believe you're correct in that sum will take that route to try and develop themselves.
I think effective immediately, Juco will become the attractive route to take for many kids and college recruiters. Why go straight out of high school to a 4 (or 5) year university only to sit and redshirt. Go to Juco for 2 years of development, start from day 1 then take advantage of 4 additional years of eligibility at the U?
College recruiters can pickup up "ready to play" juco kids that now have 4 years of eligibility left. Obviously, the current 4-5 star high school recruit will continue to go directly to the U to take advantage of the largest NIL deals.
Anyway, just a thought
