"The much-anticipated new scoreboard for the Super Pit will be installed after the current basketball season and is expected to be finished by May. And, after getting the result of the engineers' report concerning where in the Super Pit it can be installed, the new scoreboard will be center-hung.

The scoreboard will have four video screens, one of all four sides, each approximately nine feet by 16 feet. An LED message board will be underneath the display screens."

Music to my ears!!! Great update from Pyke!

I wonder what they will do with that big scoreboard and video screen at Fouts?

My two guesses would be to either move it to the baseball stadium, or keep it for Track and Field. Track does need some sort of large scoreboard to be able to show race results....does not necessarily need to be a video screen though.

Probably donate or sell it to some high school looking to upgrade their scoreboard.

How big are the video screens at the Super Pit now? Would've been nice if they could have provided a little comparison for us plebians.

Imagine 4 Ford F-150's hanging from the ceiling and you're getting close to how big the new video screen will be. (the video screen will actually be about 3 feet taller. but that should give you a pretty good idea of how massive it will be.)

Are we suppose to get some sound updates to the Super Pit too? I dearly hope so. There is absolutely no bass from the current system, and overall it can be difficult to hear announcements.

Excited to see Fouts go down.

Has to be sold just like other Univ property is sold since it is state propery....auction or garage sale as was done with the football stuff at the last spring game.

I have only been back to Denton once in the last couple of years. I guess I may have missed a thread where it was discussed...were they able to save the reliefs on Fouts? If not, can they save them before they demolish it?

Sorry but that wouldn't be an upgrade.

Maybe not for the large monied high schools in this area, but there are still many many high schools in this state that could use something like that at a convenient price point.

Great visual, good post.

Good. Last time all I got was some jerseys and cleats. I was hoping to get a jumbotron too.

And if we don't sell it I think putting it in the new baseball facility is a great idea...the best overall idea in my opinion.

And....THESE ARE GREAT THINGS BEING DONE BY OUR ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT.

Not a complaint, but I would have appreciated there being a "public" phase to the fundraising. I know that it's hard for me to justify writing a $1,000 check with no dedicated purpose but I'd have a much easier time justifying $100 monthly installments if it's for a specific goal. I can't pay for a basketball facility or a jumbotron...but I could buy a basketball hoop or a water fountain in the locker room. Plus, it's easier to get the money past "the boss" that way.

Here are some additional pictures I found of what it may look like. Both pics are relatively close to the size that ours will be. We will also have a LED ribbon underneath similar to the pics. The UNCW (top) board is 17X10 so it's a little bigger but highly comparable.

Demolition (partial) of Fouts will begin. Brings a tear to my eyes.

Should we gather around Fouts the night before and pour out a 40?

Maybe Jerry will buy it to add to his score board. He's been one upped, so he will be looking to expand.

What's the latest update on the hotel? Is it still planned for the Apogee side? Fouts make more sense. Last update I read was that they were on the 5 yard line with the city. I-35 construction starts next summer (at least in some areas between Dallas & Denton)

We may not be winning a damn thing but the facilities are looking up.

Do we expect some game time production with the new vidjea boards. I am thinking actual replays, relevants stats, music during timeouts, etc... It would be great experience for RTVF students and help spice up the presentation of the games as well. Maybe get Humble Billy to moonlight on the mic. DEFENSE....DEFENSE....

There was discussion that they had/would.
