Rats. Figured this would happen once he got a qualifying score.

Chance to start at UNT as a true freshman or ride the pine for 3 years at OU, Mr. Walker. The choice is yours.

I was hoping he was headed our way since OU recently had another DL verbal to them. Maybe Mr. Walker likes to build a program and be immortalized instead of being just another player from OU.

This is a huge bummer.

DT's don't grow on trees. This one would have helped BIGTIME.

He wouldn't solve everything, but man he would be a pretty big step in the right direction for recruiting.

Good luck to him, but man would we ever love to have you in mean green.

He would have been great. I'm sure that a player of his talent won't be convinced that he can't start for OU so the large fish in small pond vs. small fish in large pond won't work. I wish him well.

Sure this stings however, not near as much as losing a player to a school in our stratosphere (La. Tech, Tulsa, Houston etc). Here's the good news, our coaches are identifying and connecting with good talent out there. That's a good sign.

SIgns can be okay. Mac will pregame with Stoops in the middle of the field and be like, "Look, we're going after the same kids. They all committed to you, so how about a thank you card or something? Maybe spot us 14 points?"

Yessir , that's him. Unless he gets a late DI offer , I think he will be here as a prefered walk on

No offense to this kid but I would be weary to let him be a walkon. That might be the worst highlight reel I have seen this year. If he busts his ass and shows some hustle I would let him walk on but that reel shows just another body on the turf.

      Did he keep him because of lack of $$ to fire him last year? Or was he given another year to add players, make adjustments, etc to see if improvement? I don’t know, but guessing our budget factored into it.

      2025 DC Wish List

      Jeremiah Johnson from La Tech. My #1 choice no to high school DC, they have no clue to the portal and I don’t feel a great source of talent judgement. Carthel I don’t think would come for a coordinator role even for 200k more. He was my choice for HC after SL. if Johnson tells us no, look at the D2 level. D2 coordinators are more aggressive recruiting and better judges of talent. They are constantly trying to sell “snow to eskimos”. Bringing in particular kids from the portal with 1/2 schollys and inadequate facilities filling holes left by transfers etc. They are hustlers AND they won’t be afraid to come in with a hot seat coach, because of the confidence in their own skill . They will be more aggressive, But will adapt to the personnel they have in the cupboard. I’m also not sure we are getting any value from our recruiting gurus and support staff and we may need to revamp in that area for sure. Question our dfw high school coaches and get their recommendations for a DC We can do a little research in the D2 level and save money on a search committee lol
