How to Kill the Big East

It looks there are two things that could kill the Big East: 1. Will the ACC or Big 12 take any more teams? We all know the Big 12 is hoping for Florida St and a friend, but now might be the time to make a play for Boise or Cincy. The ACC could also take UConn and USF. 2. Will the new Big East tv deal be better for Boise than what they get with the MWC? The depleted Big East tv deal is probably going to be worth more than the MWC deal, but will it be bottom line a better deal given increased travel expense and spliting up Olympic sports. If either of these things happen, SDSU will go to the MWC, everyone else will go CUSA. T

Texas wants a 10 team conference and as long as the do thats whats its going to be. Regarding Big East, I read somewhere that both Boise and SDSU have free passes out if the tv money promised doesn't happen. I can see them returning to MWC, but I think SMU,Houston,Memphis,Tulane,UCF,ECU,and Navy will probably stay in Big East.Just a guess.

I could potentially see a situation if those Big East left overs organized and found good representation that they could make a push similar to merge into something like the MWC/CUSA merger discussed earlier this year. It's the same teams that were in the discussion, except now, those teams have a potential to bring the Big East's autobid. The basketball schools accounted for apx. 2/3 of the Big East revenue with NCAA Tourney Shares. The new TV contract was not likely to change that.
