At the Desoto/Southlake game

If you occasionally sign an immensely talented Zach Thomas-type player who is slightly shorter than the ideal prototype for his position, then you will be just fine. However, if undersized athletes become the rule rather than the exception in your recruiting philosophy, then your team will not stand a chance against those with true Division I athletes.

I agree on Young. With no other D1 offers, you'd think our coaching staff would be all over him.

"Taylor Young might pass Zach Orr as the best linebacker I've coached at DeSoto," Mathis said. "He controls the defense. Everything goes through Taylor."

A 5'10 LB too! He has NT written all over him!

I'm not sure what your deal is with this . . . Coach Mac has signed 10 LBs in the time he has been here, and all but 2 are listed at 6' or above. And the two that aren't are 5'11". With all the holes in our recruiting, I don't know why you'd feel the need to beat this to death.

Damon Sayles, ESPNDallas, posted this around 9:30 p.m.

#DeSotoU LB Taylor Young (@t_young26) laid the wood multiple times vs. #SLC. He has

#ULM,

#Rice & #CSU offers ($): http://es.pn/USSbdD

Glad to see Rice on the list; grades should not be a problem. (assumed when the TV guys said no offers) I don't know what's going on behind the scene on Bonnie Brae but to pass this kid up for a smallish Louisiana kid would appear to be a mistake. Moreover, ULM taking a another player from our neighborhood.
