I saw in the box score that attendance on Saturday was 3600 and change. How does recent performance affect attendance going forward? Do we maintain a 3000 average?

I commented on another thread that I thought the students were, for the most part, listless. There doesn't appear to be a legit successor to Flyer and his pre-printed taunting research papers on every visiting team.

The students are just awful and the taunting pretty much gone. I try, but I usually get goofy looks from the others and glares for standing the entire game. Games were a lot more fun in the student section in 2010.

As a student in 2010, I can wholeheartedly agree with you that the taunting was probably at a max in 2010!

However, I'm still there, Hardhat and all by the pep band. Taunting when I can.

I still see y'all there, just being away from the Pit Crew has left it really quiet. Y'all are fantastic and bring back the Pit Crew, just by the band. I just wish we could bring back that taunting and heckling we used to have. I do heckle quite a bit, but there's like two who do it now. I won't be there on Saturday, though. I'm just so disappointed with the students right now. I think I'm going to go sit in the front row for the rest of the games and try to wake the Pit Crew up though!

The guy with the green hair and headband is pretty good, but that's really all. A few rows, that's all that stands up or is loud anymore. Ugh.

I'm a supporter of all RV's done for NT, but I'm an example of how the long-documented poor administration of the ticket office can impact attendance...

Going into the season, I'd planned on purchasing 2 season tickets (for the first time) and was looking at booking a trip to Hot Springs for the tourney.

Multiple times I tried to purchase the tickets online (I have an active account from football season tickets) but either the system was too confusing or simply unavailable - this included an effort made 10/12 while watching mid-night madness coverage on ESPNU.

Undeterred, I continued by emailing the ticket office and have yet to have received a reply.

So, I did not purchase season tickets and have yet to attend a game since I'm not already financially commited and the team's performance leaves much to be desired. At this point, Hot Springs will not happen either.

Credit card and a phone call was all that it would have taken. The AD isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but if you REALLY wanted to get season tickets, you would have taken the simple step of picking up the phone for a 5 minute phone call. You didn't, which tells me you were never that motivated to buy the tickets in the 1st place.

No big deal, but really no reason to b!+$h about it, either.

This response is my exact point. The ticket office is not "easy to do business with" and our fan base (myself included) is not largely committed enough to fight through inconvenience.

Turn the blame to me if you'd like but my point is that it's part of RV's job to remove obstacles from being a supporter of all things Mean Green Athletics.

After finding out Benford gets a bonus for having over 3,000 season ticket holders maybe we should be happy the ticket office weren't more helpful, just in case we were getting close to that number before the season started.
