He's killing Middle in the first half. 13 for 14 with two tds. ASU up 35-0 at half.

We need a mobile and accurate quarterback now.

Still early in the process but we have to sign a quarterback this year.

He is such an unknown I don't want to entirely rely on somebody who hasn't played football in a couple years. And if he doesn't work out, the program is set back a couple more years.

Didn't catch much of Teegarden as a QB. Was he meh? Nice numbers coming out of Odessa. Undersized, overachieving, and very mobile. Seems like perfect QB for mid-major, but was immediately moved when new staff came in. Not suggesting he be moved back that this point, but thoughts on what Teegarden brought to the table?

That's what scares me. Current and previous coaching staffs have made such blunders. You know,all eggs in one basket.

This isn't another "closed practices" complaint but in year's past we had somewhat of a idea what we had in the other QBs from watching practice or at least some snaps in games. Not sure if we know how much of an option the other guys are.

I know it is coach speak, but the "we like the guys we have" answer just makes me roll my eyes.

45-0 ASU. They gotta be hoping and praying they can keep Malzahn in Jonesboro.

I think Gus needs a couple of years recruiting to grow as a head coach so he could see him there for a couple of seasons.

I would rather have Jordan Lynch from NIU, watched a lot of their games and this guy is a beast... He threw for just under 3000 yards, rush for under 1800 yards with 24 passing TDS and ran in for another 19

Aplin was 19-21, 238 yards, 3 TD's. There's more. 6 carries for 64 yards and 1 TD. Why would we want him?

The question is, why can't UNT recruit and sign QB's like Aplin?

+1 for asking a good question. Maybe the real question is, how do we that kind of quarterback signed and starting at QB?

He is a beast and it's a bit of a crime he doesn't get more press. He's a junior too I think.

Speaking of NIU, I really enjoyed watching NIU and Kent State last night. Good game. And give the MAC credit, that conference has stuck together for so long. Good solid group of teams that seem happy with what they have.

It is, Ive watched and gambled on over 6 of there games this year and won them all... Theyre a great team to watch, Congrats to Doeren as he leaves the MAC to the ACC

      Painful loss…

      This loss was not painful, Lonnie...it didn't hurt anything at all. Just showed that the guys will fight back to the end. Literally, nothing changed from losing this close one.

      With as poorly as we played, we fought back in the second half and had a chance to pull off a major comeback win. Kudos to the players and coaches for making Fisher and the crowd sweat this one out. I kinda felt this one coming, but as the second half went on, I also thought this was going to be such a North Texas way to win a basketball game. Just didn't work out for us. Regroup and lock-in for the real prize.

      Women’s Hoops Begins AAC Tournament Monday Night Against ECU

      DENTON, Texas — The UNT women’s basketball team will kick off its postseason run against East Carolina Monday night in the quarterfinals at the American Athletic Conference Championship. The second-seeded Mean Green and No. 7 Pirates will meet for the second time this season with tip-off set for 6 p.m. CT at Dickies Arena. The teams have met twice in the last two seasons with both contests going into multiple overtimes and resulting in UNT victories. North Texas won in Denton, 93-91, in four overtimes on Feb. 27, 2024, in what was the longest game in program history. This season, the Mean Green took a return trip to Greenville where they used a second-half comeback to send the game into overtime. Jaaucklyn Moore’s game-tying 3-pointer in the first overtime eventually led to a 73-71 victory after Jaelyn Talley made a go-ahead layup in double overtime. The Mean Green will look to avenge last season’s early exit at the conference tournament when they fell to Rice, 61-59, in the quarterfinals. For the second straight year, UNT enters as the No. 2 seed following a 23-7 regular season. This year’s team put together a 15-3 mark in league play, marking the most conference wins in program history. East Carolina will play for a second straight day after defeating No. 10 Memphis, 64-45, Sunday afternoon. First Team All-AAC selection Amiya Joyner led the Pirates with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Monday’s game will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network App with Zac Babb on the call. WHAT 2 WATCH 4 • UNT will begin its postseason against East Carolina on Monday night in the quarterfinals of the AAC Championship. • UNT's 23 wins this season is tied for the most in program history with last season's squad. • North Texas earned the No. 2 seed and a double bye to the quarterfinals at the AAC Tournament for a second consecutive season. • Tommisha Lampkin, Desiree Wooten and Aniyah Johnson represented UNT on the conference's postseason awards. POSTSEASON AWARDS • Tommisha Lampkin became the first UNT player to earn First Team all-conference honors since Terriell Bradley in 2017-18. • Lampkin was a unanimous selection to the All-AAC First Team by the league's coaches after leading the conference in double doubles, rebounding and FG%. She was the lone player in the conference to average a double double on the season. • Desiree Wooten earned the first all-conference honors of her career being named to the All-AAC Second Team and the All-AAC Defensive Team. The sophomore guard averaged 11.3 points per game, while ranking No. 3 in The American with 50 steals. • Aniyah Johnson joined Wooten on the league's All-Defensive Team in her senior year. She collected 176 rebounds on the season and was fourth in the AAC with 24 blocks during conference play.
