1. What is wrong with being born a millionaire or billionaire if you're still a good person?

2. I don't know their exact wage, but I imagine it is pretty similar to what it was when I was hired there in college. Their job is pretty easy. I can think of plenty of people who have tougher jobs and get paid well below their worth.

The working/middle class. But go ahead, keep carrying the water for people like Sam Walton's kids. Born into being billionaires without ever having to lift a finger.

Do you realize how close you come to a page right out of the socialist/communist handbook with this post?

Of course you do.

I consider myself middle class and I don't hold a grudge to those that have worked hard, built their business from the ground up and then their family continues this business providing jobs for many people. Let's consider a minute the skills required to work at Wal Mart. It is not terribly difficult and the requirements are pretty minimal, so what should they be paid for the job they perform? Sorry, but GrayEagle is correct. This is exactly what the socialist believe, redistribute the wealth to everyone whether you earned it or not.

Yes, $10/hr. Small towns can't afford $20/hr. They have to make due with very little. Many times, their cars are second hand from a larger department, and the equipment (gun, ammo, flashlights, cuffs, etc) are usually at the cost of the officer. I've actually been impressed at how well they can do their jobs with so little. I think only the large departments are unionized, if you can even call them unions. I can't really comment on that. Most of the officers have legal organizations that will represent us in an event like an officer involved shooting, or if we face termination or repremand.

But if you have brass that has your back, you don't generally have to worry about wrongful termination. But the legal council is a must when you have to use force.

General rundown of pay in the area I work.

Smaller cities are $10/hr (1K popluation)

Medium sized are around $12/hr (1K-5K)

Athens and County is around mid $30K salary

Because they have horrible labor practices.

I always have to chuckle at this when it's being said about an American company. Wow. They make them work at Thanksgiving for a job they applied for.

Visit a third world country if you want to see "horrible labor practices." No one forced these idiots to take low wage jobs at Wal-Mart. There are low wage jobs everywhere.

But, NEWSFLASH - if you have a job, the company will likely set your hours of work and days as well. That's not horrible; that's the way it works.

Wal-Mart should fire them all. They can all go apply at fast food joints. Although, there isn't a whole lot of opportunity to just wander around and do nothing like many Wal-Mart employees do. At the fast food joint, they'd actually have to work most of their shift.

Now, that truly would be horrible for them.

Awwww, the poor Wal Mart workers want more money. I'll be sure to pass this along to my co-workers who patrol for $10/hr.

I'm sure they'd be thrilled with $10/hr. You complain about $10/hr and a Walmart associate makes less than $9/hr.

What's your point? I'm sure they'd be thrilled with a job where they got paid $10 and didn't do anything but walk around and stock shelves. And I'm not complaining about making $10 as a cop. Guess what? I currently volunteer, which means I DON'T get any pay. I just don't think they have any valid complaint when there are people that get paid well below their worth and have much tougher jobs. I guess I can't make some of you understand this, but at least I tried.

Also, I worked at Oshman's (now Sport's Authority) for 2 and a half years while I was in college and left right after I graduated. I sold exercise equipment. I got a degree in kinesiology and they wouldn't even pay me $8/hr for a job in which I used my education which cost me THOUSANDS to obtaion. Did I bitch? No, I walked in, stated why I deserved a raise, got denied, and went and found a better damn job.

Actually its not, LOL. Im currently doing gas well security while I try to get a FT police job. The only reason I keep doing the gas well job is because it pays so well in this crappy economy. The only downside is if they stop drilling, which they have before, I'm screwed. Then I have to get a job for $8/hr at Dicks Sporting Goods again.

But thank you for your +1. I gave you a +1 for your +1...

Are we supposed to hug now?
