Since we might be looking for a potential juco replacement for Power at TE, I hope we consider going after this guy. Plays at Scottsdale C.C. where Brock Berglund played for one scrimmage before transferring here.

Listed at 6'4" and (depending on the source) between 245 and 263 lbs. Very well put together, looks like a defensive end but runs very fluidly and looks natural catching the ball.

According to the team website he is a freshman, and according to rivals and his highlights he is coming out of juco in may. If these sources are correct then he should have three years to play three seasons once he arrives at a university for the start of fall practice.

Lists one offer on rivals from Arkansas, but that's it surprisingly. Don't know if any other schools have offered or are going to but he is a BCS caliber player.

I don't know how much of a relationship Berglund built with him in their short time there together but it'd be pretty sweet if Brock could help sway him to UNT.

Jones will be a redshirt sophomore and so too should Marcus Smith. I agree that tight end isn't a dire need or anything, but this guy (or maybe another good juco te) could step into a position where we don't have a definite starter.

Yes, we wouldn't be hurting if we don't sign an impact tight end this class, but dang this kid could really open up the middle of the field for us and help replace one of our best players.

NT needs better players at about every position. TE has some capable returnees in Miller and the redshirted Prior. Marcus Smith was supposed to be the best of the underclassmen and Tanner Smith was used a lot. Not a must position for recruits but if NT continues to use 2 and 3 te sets, then it becomes more of a need. NT had a bunch of tight ends on the squad and most of them were walk ons, and several got a lot of playing time.

It is a relative easy position to find players, and if NT can find a difference maker; sign him. However, with only a few ships left, I would give every one of them to the players with the best potential no matter what position. NT really does not have any positions that numbers are a big issue, so just get the best players.
