Benford, players address Huntsville loss, et cetera

I had a chance to ask Tony Benford and UNT’s players about their loss to Alabama-Huntsville today after they returned from the “Road Trip From You Know Where”'

Not the most pleasant conversation I have had recently, but it was kind of enlightening.

“It was a tough trip,” Benford said. “We knew Creighton was going to be a difficult game and Alabama-Huntsville, I give those guys credit. That was the worst loss I have been a part of in 21 years. That’s all on me. I will always be accountable. That is a game we should have won.”

UNT’s players were upset about the loss as well.

I actually wish Vito hadn't asked for explanation now. Wake-up call in game two? We've had injuries? These guys haven't played much basketball in college? Geez, it was UAH. There is no explanation or reason to justify the loss. That should have been the response.

That loss sucked and was inexcusable, but it is over.

I'm over it. If we start rattling off wins then that loss will be a distant memory.

Good point. Nothing winning can't fix. If I were on the team, I would pretend every opponent we face this year was UAH and unleash hell on all of them.
