Six bowls in playoff format

So one "group of five" team gets a bid to one of the six bowls. But of those six bowls, only two are playoff games leading to a championship game.

Am I reading this correctly? If so, I don't see "access" to anything but a chew treat.

Spin it however you guys want. The fact is that the 2 semifinal games + championship game is where the most money will be. As long as we only have a 4 team playoff, the Big 6 will only get richer and create more separation from the group of 5.

Bowl games are nice, but in the face of a playoff system will lose a great deal of interest. Don't be fooled. Why would a president from a Big 6 conference feel the need to make this comment??:

"They did it with a smile on their faces," (Nebraska chancellor Havey) Perlman said. "They thought it's fair."

He knows that we just bought an old beat up Jalope disguised as a Porsche. He's assuring himself that's he's not a con-artist so he can sleep at night, and us while we drive that rickety thing off the lot.
