It's all too perfect timing. If he does fall on the sword, this will open up Clinton to run in 2016.

I have no idea if it's true or not, but I have heard that a high ranking official in the Navy was dismissed of his duties last week, supposedly one of the big wigs on board one of the aircraft carriers in or near the Mediterranean Sea?

I figured if true he would be the one to take the blame?

I think they are looking for ANYONE to take the blame, other than the actual goverenment officials. I mean, President Clinton can have an affair while in office, and lie about it, but it's just toooooooo much for the CIA director to have an affiar.

It really is disappointing and insulting for the federal government to think it's citizens are that stupid.

If there's anything more entertaining than conservatives thinking they weren't radical enough...it's the conspiracy theories.

Well, conservatives not thinking they weren't hardline enough is pretty funny. "We didn't get enough votes, so we need to do more to divide with our already divisive public image!"

And for Petraeus, I can sort of see the conspiracy here, but I would think that even if he wasn't the acting Director of the CIA, he could still be brought in for the hearing. Being in the chair or not really doesn't have any impact on whether or not someone does or doesn't have information when they were in that position. Plus, Petraeus' affair was already scuttlebutt during the course of the book being written. Hell, the woman's husband even went semi-public (alluding to it, but not naming names) prior to the Benghazi incident.

If you ask me, if it is an excuse to keep Petraeus out of the hearing, I wouldn't call it conspiracy, I'd call it a damn weak cop-out based on a semi-convenient situation. I

C'mon, KRAM... Look at that picture again! That forehead... Those crazy eyes... The sinewy, linebacker shoulders...

Petraeus is only a man, KRAM. And a man can only resist so much before inevitably surrendering to the troop surge in his pants.

This is all unpatriotic speculation on our part. Petraeus is not the type of person that annouces a timetable for withdrawal. He will not pull out until the job is done. 'Murica!!!

Maybe there wasn't a large enough occupation force to resolve the conflict?

"Petraeus ghostwriter ‘clueless’ to affair"

.."I always thought that Broadwell’s motives were pure, and I always wondered why Petraeus was granting her the access that he did. The two must have seen a lot of themselves in each other — they shared the West Point bond, an addiction to physical fitness and running and an uber-optimistic, never-say-die outlook on life..."

..."But Broadwell’s father said Sunday his daughter is the victim of character assassination and implied the bombshell story is just a smoke screen for something bigger.

“This is about something else entirely, and the truth will come out,” Broadwell’s dad, Paul Krantz, told the Daily News outside his home in Bismarck, N.D.

“There is a lot more that is going to come out,” said Krantz, claiming he was not allowed to elaborate. “You wait and see. There’s a lot more here than meets the eye.”

He said he supports his daughter “100%.”...

This goes to the old saying, "The badge will get you "p", but the "p" will get your badge.

Or in this case, your top secret clearance.

Yeah, a cop I knew said that if a woman was stopped for a traffic violation and flashed her boobs, she DID get the ticket. I hate it for Petraeus, he was great at what he did, but he needed to keep it in his pants better.

"White House 'Held Affair Over Petraeus's Head' For Favorable Testimony On Benghazi"

http://m.newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2012/11/13/krauthammer-white-house-held-affair-over-petraeuss-head-favorable-tes

..."CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: I think the really shocking news today was that General Petraeus thought and hoped he could keep his job. He thought that it might and it would be kept secret, and that he could stay in his position. I think what that tells us is really important. It meant that he understood that the FBI obviously knew what was going on. He was hoping that those administration officials would not disclose what had happened, and therefore hoping that he would keep his job. And that meant that he understood that his job, his reputation, his legacy, his whole celebrated life was in the hands of the administration, and he expected they would protect him by keeping it quiet.

And that brings us to the ultimate issue, and that is his testimony on September 13. That’s the thing that connects the two scandals, and that’s the only thing that makes the sex scandal relevant. Otherwise it would be an exercise in sensationalism and voyeurism and nothing else. The reason it’s important is here’s a man who knows the administration holds his fate in its hands, and he gives testimony completely at variance with what the Secretary of Defense had said the day before, at variance with what he’d heard from his station chief in Tripoli, and with everything that we had heard. Was he influenced by the fact that he knew his fate was held by people within the administration at that time?

Of course it was being held over Petraeus’s head, and the sword was lowered on Election Day. You don’t have to be a cynic to see that as the ultimate in cynicism. As long as they needed him to give the administration line to quote Bill, everybody was silent. And as soon as the election’s over, as soon as he can be dispensed with, the sword drops and he’s destroyed. I mean, can you imagine what it’s like to be on that pressure and to think it didn’t distort or at least in some way unconsciously influence his testimony? That’s hard to believe.

If Krauthammer is correct, it's going to be very interesting to see if and how the Obama-loving media reports it...."
