Coppell (Texas) vs Denton (Texas) Ryan

It was a tough, hard fought game, but at the end it was Coppell who kept an undefeated record alive with a 21-3 victory. The offense was led by sleeper prospect Cameron Smith, a 6-foot-0, 180-pound wide receiver who racked up 9 receptions for 114 yards and two scores. He was easy to get open and made tough catches look easy. It was not a huge surprise to find out after that he had secured two official offers from Illinois and North Texas.

Nice find, Harry. If anyone doubt how shallow we are at WR, just look at how many we are recruiting in this class.

I love getting players from established 5A programs. Maybe I'm biased as a guy that played at a 5A school, but I feel like these players are at a huge advantage as far as being prepared to play college football as opposed to guys from smaller programs like 1A and 2A schools. Guys like Jimmerson and Zach Orr from 5A power Desoto, Brelan Chancellor and Brandin Byrd from Copperas Cove (same school as RG3), and David Busby from Coppell as well.

Good players from 5A high schools unfortunately do not fall through the cracks of the UTs and A&Ms very often so it might be wise to jump on these opportunities when we have the chance. Hopefully we get more of these guys now that we are CUSA.
