“When I look [smith’s] way, I expect him to make plays, and he did that tonight,” UNT quarterback Derek Thompson said. “The other guys stepped up and made plays as well. Carlos Harris made some plays and Chris Bynes came up when I needed him to.”

*Translation........I needed someone to make circus catches (both very high and very low) in order to bring in my "what the hell was that?"-like throws.

It would be nice to have a QB that can throw a pass that our players can run with and not have to dive to catch.

So, I noticed that Chaz Sampson was not dressed for the game. So, does anyone know whether he is injured. Yes, I know he hasn't pleased the coaches enough to actually get playing time, but just wondering: "what up?".

We are doing exactly how Mac said we would. He said it was a five year plan. He said we were too small and too slow, and he clearly has convinced his players of that as well.

I sure hope that we go 6-6, but a 3-9 would make it pretty tough to recruit into that 5 year plan. If you don't seriously get better by year 3, that 5 year plan could end up getting extended.

I thought we would get to 5 this year, but I think 4 is the most we will see. 3-9 would be rough.

No, more likely than an extension on a 5 year plan is the beginning of another 5 year plan with a new HC.

Well I do wonder why, if we have 2 or 3 more guys that actually make quite decent D1 receivers, we saw so little of them before Brelan went out. I think spreading the ball around a bit more would have helped us a lot

The crazy 8 stat seems like a Norm stat to kick us while we're down.
