Just stop. You're wasting your time. They just told Osborn he wasn't coming back. You honestly think they're gonna give him a chance to prove them wrong? Believe it or not, coaches have egos. Even Coach Mac. Derek is our quarterback. Support him or don't, that's your choice, but if you think they're gonna give Osborn a shot after pulling his scholly next year, you've lost your mind.

Go Mean Green!

They could end up HAVING to give him a shot. On the other hand, they would probably bypass him for Dodson, or more likely rip off McNulty's red shirt. With the exception of the Middle game, kudos to our OL for putting off that decision thus far.

Mac would look really silly if he put in Oz and he lead us to a comeback victory. People would then question the entire season. We won't see OZ unless DT gets injuried

I agree with this.

Well, I think that if Oz was the best option and UNT needed him to try to win the game then Mac would definitely put him in...do you really think Mac would base a game day coaching decision on what a bunch of folks on a fan board or fans in general would think? Seriously? I give him much more credit than you in this regard I guess....While I agree that we will not see Oz UNLESS something "odd" happens, I do think Mac would and WILL make the best decision HE can regarding getting the Mean Green in a position to win. If that meant sending Oz in...I am certain he would do so. Folks, this situation with Oz is odd, of course, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that there is more to the story than meets the eye at this point.

No there isn't. They said they weren't bringing him back because they didn't want 5 scholarship QBs. I'm not speculating. I'm giving you the facts. And while I do love your optimism regarding Coach Mac, I do find it a tad naïve. I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but coaches absolutely hate admitting they're wrong, and he is no different. They are not pulling his scholarship and then letting him play unless something happens to Derek, and even then it's questionable. Support Derek. He's our quarterback whether y'all like it or not.

If Mac is worried that some fan board fans might think he is silly for making some football related move or another, then folks, we have the wrong guy! In the short time I have seen and been around Coach Mac I find the guy interested in doing all he can to win football games, not in worrying about what others think of him personally or his football related decisions. And, certainly would not give a rat's rear end if some "never coached...never been there...doesn't know the full story" fan thought some decision he made was silly! The folks that actually count here...team, AD staff, etc. KNOW what's going on here...

And, please...I am not talking about any one's post here in specific when I said "never coached...never been there...doesn't know the full story"....my response is just a general response to the fact that some might think that this is an area of "concern" for Coach Mac. It's NOT! My comments are in no way directed toward any single post here....

It's time to move on about this situation folks...it's done....I hope Brent hooks on with a new D1 or whatever team that he likes and will get to play next season if he so chooses. Like I have said before...would loved to have seen him get a few more reps at UNT as DT's back-up guy...seems like a good guy and I know his family is a great bunch. Didn't work out for whatever reason...I applaud and thank and congratulate Brent for handling this situation the way he has in public. That says something positive about the young man and his family. Good luck.

So...you do, in fact agree. Sort of what I was saying if you read between the lines. I did say and I quote "if UNT needed him"....carry on. I realize you have much more inside poop than I do based on your position regarding the team...I don't think i am disagreeing with you at all if you will go back and read all my posts on this subject...and again...time to move on.

The difference is that Coach Mac doesn't have anyone relevant to care about admitting he's wrong to. I'm sorry, but this isn't the Cowboys. It isn't UT. It isn't Florida. Coach Mac making a QB change wouldn't be a blip on the radar as far as his ego is concerned. This ego business, along with "more than meets the eye" is really just message board material - the kind of things that people like to speculate about. If Mac thought Osborn could win him games that DT couldn't, then he'd put him in. Coaches hate losing more than they hate being wrong to about 30 people on a message board and Brett Vito.

Funny that you say that, because my original post was pretty much telling everyone to move on. And I don't doubt that Mac wants to win. However, he's made it very clear that he wants to win on his terms. That's why you see the exact same gameplan week after week. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but it never changes, and I have my doubts that it ever will.

Just a little perspective. KRAM is the same person who stated that Dodge knew best and shouldnt listen to a bunch of guys on a fan message board.

Just sayin.

And...I will keep saying that...any coach who listens to a bunch of folks who are great only in their own minds and who have never coached at the FBS/D1 level even one day is not worth having as a coach. You know, Emmitt....everyone knows how to be a better cop too...you know...how they could have kept that lady from getting killed after the lack of response after the 911 call...everyone that is who has never been a cop, who wasn't there and who has no dog in the hunt that is.... And coaching at the pee wee level doesn't really count any more than watching a cop show on TV.

I'll stick with the guys who make their living coaching at the college level over a bunch of "I could do it better" message board arm chair Coaches...you can do as you please as well.

Just sayin.....

Very valid point.

But, when the coach doesn't get the job done, it's time to move on, regardless of what anyone on here thinks or says. It all comes down to results on the field, no excuses.

We are all just idoits on this fanboard, after all.
