Berglund --- 4.6, 4.5 legit speed. immediately improved the QB position. That's the first time I've heard him mention Berglund.

Pegram running scout team and is tough impressive.

Before shoulder injury Brad Horton showed athletic ability for his size.

Xavier Kelly from Florida undersized but can play.

Sir Calvin and Dylan McDorman should be ready to help at tackle.

13 on offense 9 on defense are red shirting.

Macik at punter - will earn a ship

Kaydon Kirby - kid can play and will play.

Carl Caldwell - would start at WR transfer from smaller college.

Rod Lancaster making great progress 10.5 track guy.

11 scholarships under 85 still this season.

Lose 11 seniors. Not all scholarship players.

Harry, just from reading your post, it looks like DMac is basically saying "wait till next year." Again, just from reading your post. Was that the context of the statements? I didn't get to listen.

I wouldn't say that -- I think it came from him saying with the WR injuries we are down to 4-5 guys at the position period but he would not unredshirt anyone. He went from that to outline done of the guys they were redshirting. I think it was more of a way to say keep your head up there are reasons to be optimistic about the future.

He mentioned Berglund about 3-4 weeks ago on the coaches show. I think it was after the Troy game. Was very high on him then too.

It didn't sound like that to me, although the last time they spent this much time talking about the guys in the stables was after Troy.

He may not have phrased it as such... but that's 100% "wait until next year" talk. Unless he's willing to have the "Why I absolutely won't try a QB change" talk, I don't know what else he could tell any of us at this point.

Or maybe if he sees Berglund as good future competition to DT he would prefer to have DT to develop this season versus someone else see those snaps.

Caldwell transferred from Kansas Wesleyan, a NAIA school. I was under the impression that players were not required to sit out when tranferring. Maybe this is a coach's decision to preserve a year of eligibility until next year?

I understand that Rome wasn't built in a day. If he is high on the red-shirts and transfers, then I believe he has a pretty good reason. It is not so much giving up on this year (as I see it), but keeping an eye on the future.

There are 15 seniors on the roster, but I guess he is referring to the 11 on the 2 deep. There are 7 seniors that are listed as starters. If you assume they are on scholarship, we should be able to get back to 85 scholarship players with next year's class. If we are at 74 currenlty and lose 7 to graduation we will be at 67. We will be able to add 18 (plus any additional scholarship players that leave) to get us to the full complement of 85.

It really was a good show to attend in person this week. I recommend coming by in person if you can as often the chat during commercials, before and after the show is pretty good as well. Tonight's show was one of the best so far this year in my opinion.

Really, try coming by in person. It's usually pretty much the same group each week. Would love to see some new faces as well.

Also Jarrion Roberts moved from LB to DE.

I REALLY like this move....Tulsa had a guy from San Antonio convert from linebacker to defensive end who I believe made it to the NFL but I can't recall his name. Jerrian has a lot of ability and I can't wait to see him next season.

enjoyed the coaches show. This was the second time I've gone. Very interesting, and I think it's so cool that NT does this... I would imagine that while other D1 head coaches are on the radio, you can't talk to them during radio breaks like you can here.

Interesting.

Currently he's listed as 6'2" 238. Big enough to grow into an every down DE or more of an AK style pass rusher?

If Roberts is 6'2" then he is roughly six inches taller than AK.

Yeah I am thinking AK was 190 soaking wet when he arrived here. Two completely different body types.

I think that Iowa State and Tulsa coming after Roberts late is due to the fact that they saw him as an eventual defensive end. Like I've said, it's one of the hardest positions to recruit because the top programs stockpile them coming out of high school and junior college.

So it looks like we are decided on who will take atterburys role next year. Good to see we seem to have an idea already and don't have to scramble last minute
