It all starts up Wednesday. The most successful program in NT history will look to leave the Sun Belt on top, following up on their regular season championship (regardless of what the MTSU fighting unicorns say). The tourney will be hosted in Mobile by South Alabama.

Here is the tourney bracket.

Wednesday (all times CT):

Game 1 - #1 North Texas vs. #8 Florida Atlantic - 10:00am

Game 2 - #4 Western Kentucky vs. #5 Arkansas State - 1:00pm

Game 3 - #3 Florida International vs. #6 Troy - 4:00pm

Game 4 - #2 Middle Tennessee vs. #7 South Alabama (HOST) - 7:00pm

Friday:

Game 5: Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner - 4:00pm

Game 6: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner - 7:00pm

Sunday:

Game 7 - Game 5 Winner vs. Game 6 Winner - 1:00pm

The only team to beat NT this year was WKU (in Bowling Green). That would be a semifinal matchup. The only team to tie NT was FIU (1-1 in Denton), and those two teams would not face until the final. No one outside of the top four seeds worries me, but it is soccer, so anything can happen.

Go Mean Green!

2nd half. Both teams struggling to get the ball in a position for the forwards to make plays. I think for FAU this is due to strong midfield play by UNT. For UNT, I would guess it's just a more conservative gameplan.

Congrats ladies...now go kick some WKU rear ends...Do it! You know you can...we know you can!

Host South Alabama gets a goal back but can't find the equalizer and falls to MTSU 2-1. Semifinals set for Friday:

4:00pm - #1 North Texas vs. #4 Western Kentucky (WKU won regular season matchup 2-0 @ WKU)

7:00pm - #2 Middle Tennessee vs. #3 Florida International (MTSU won 3-1 @ FIU)

Good Luck Today Ladies

In previous years, the tourney was set up like that where the only off day was between the semifinals and final. The athletic department must not have gotten the memo...either that or the team skipped out on the game to go to the beach.
