RE: HUGE Home Game on Saturday

It's about matchups. UNT has matched up really well with Middle in the last 2 years and MT hasn't beaten them since 09. What UNT has been doing this year is using the RB's as WR's. Lots of dump passes, screens, and mid-range wheel routes. On the ground, they have 3 backs who are all good. Brelan Chancellor, Brandon Byrd, and Antoinne Jimmerson. Ivan Delgado is their top WR. Who are the other 2 top WR's? Chancellor and Jimmerson, their RB's.

MT has to blitz a lot this week. Even if we get burned, we have to keep blitzing and getting pressure on Thompson. The more pressure he has on him, the more he overthrows or makes mistakes. Dropping back and letting him create is not a good plan. MT has to rush the backfield. If they don't do that, MT will get picked apart no doubt.

Not the defensive game plan i'd go with. Better to load the box and jam our receivers. With our quick passes, I wouldn't blitz. Contain the run and make DT beat you. Blitzing plays right into the quick passes/screens.

If I was the Muts OC id throw deep a lot.

If I was Chico I'd get the ball to Chancellor and Jimmerson in space a lot.

"Of the backs, Jimmerson is the one to watch. He has next level moves and balance and now needs to continue to work on his burst/breakaway speed. Not sure where UNT gets all the backs.. I think they have a lab on campus that makes these guys..."

Hahahaha.
