I don't believe that I've seen anyone else mention this. If you look at the Sun Belt standings, every team currently ranked above us is a team that we have yet to play. South Alabama is of course not one of them, but if you assume wins for each game, as we of course hope will be the case, even if the other teams above us win every game other than the one in which we beat them, we would move up exactly 1 spot after playing each game (average) - staying in the same spot after one game and jumping 2 spots after winning the next.

This week: MUTS is directly ahead of us; beat them and we switch spots.

Next week: If we beat ASU and the other 2 both win, we would both be 5-4 and thus we would be ranked higher due to the tie-breaker.

Then USA, if we win, would leave us in the same spot.

Beat ULM, then because of tiebreakers (us over them, them over WacKY), we jump 2 spots to #1. Then of course we play in the land of K-Y and hope to win yet again to stay in first place.

Still some tough games ahead, but looking at the schedule and the rankings made me think of a boxing movie or something, moving up the rankings one spot at a time. Of course, it will be much cooler if it actually happens!

If we win out, we are guaranteed a share of the conference title. It's not really that bizarre of a situation. At least four other teams are in the same spot, the only thing is we can't all win out, so the conference title can't ve split more than two ways.

I wasn't really thinking about the title being split as much as the fact that our remaining schedule has us going up the ladder one rung at a time. To me, it just seemed like fate. The schedule was made long before we knew who would be ranked where at what point in the season, you know?
