I thought WKU would get more credit for the momentum they built with their new coach.

They lost some key pieces. Also, MTSU and USA are returning very strong this year. May be more about crediting what those two obviously have over not crediting what WKU might have.

I'm sorry but it is a surprise to me that Alzie didn't make at least 2nd or 3rd team. I think we you move to a new conference you are only allowed one player on the All Conference team!

I really think there are several players that should be first or second team...

Well... i guess they don't share our opinion about how deep this team is... they will not even see what hit em I guess, when they realize Tony is taking a 15 minute nap on the bench in the second half, and the remaining team is still running circles around them

This is MTSU's token poll. We will have 4 on the final team and Blue Unicorns will have 1.

I see Tony and Chris Jones (if he lives up to expectations and cuts down on the TOs) as 1st teamers at the end of the year, with Jordan Williams a 2nd or 3rd team pick. Alzee is a do it all player, but those rarely make all-conference teams. If Holman really comes on this year, maybe he gets 2nd or 3rd team.

No way they can ignore Mitchell, but they sure can ignore the rest of the team. Four players on team from Muts and one from NT, it leaves NT with lot to prove. I think NT should have a better team than the Muts even without Tony. Jones is a first team talent although I guess everyone else in the Belt forgot that he led the conference in assists and points before he became ineligible.

NT and FIU are not going to get any favors this year and I am afraid that will not be just limited to the preseason picks.

Pre-season polls don't matter. Let's see what this looks like in March.

agree...voting based on what may happen is dumb to me...preseason football polls are stupid...preseason all american...stupid...let the boys play and then earn their accolades. at the end of the year, north texas basketball will be just fine...

Chris Jones was much better statistically than preseason first teamers Trey Finn and Marcos Knight, he just wasn't picked because of the eligibility situation. He'll be first team and Jordan Williams may be as well, with Will Neighbour as his competition.

I wouldn't be surprised if Keith Coleman made Second Team. He probably won't be first because his scoring average won't be high enough to unseat Augustine Rubit. If he has a big impact on the defensive end, which I think he will, don't be surprised if the coaches recognize his impact and give him some postseason credit.

Either way, don't be discouraged by the lack of players on the all-Sunbelt teams. We are still ridiculously loaded.
