I, like others who cannot make the trip to Creighton, was hoping the game would air on ESPN3. It's definitely a must-see matchup of 2 top players so why not show it on, at minimum, ESPN3.

Well, it doesn't look good...

http://www.gocreighton.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1000&ATCLID=205705341

"Creighton's games that will be shown by ESPN and its networks include Nov. 23 (Wisconsin), Nov. 24 (Arkansas/Arizona State), Dec. 1 (Saint Joseph's), Nebraska (Dec. 6), Northern Iowa (Jan. 15), Wichita State (Jan. 19), Southern Illinois (Jan. 27), Illinois State (Feb. 9) and Evansville (Feb. 16).

Four of the games will air on ESPN2, three on ESPN3 and one on ESPNU. The Jan. 27 contest at Southern Illinois will air on either ESPNU or ESPN3, with a decision made in early January."

Any chance there could be a last-minute addition? If not, is there any other way to see what will be an epic game other than getting score updates on a boxscore?

The espn people come and work out at the ch Collins complex and they said they do not show UNTsports often because of the lack of an audience. Every time they show a game does terrible veiwrship on the neilson rating. They said more people view the eu ah high school football hames nationally then anything unt.

I find this hard to believe. The recent bowl games had good numbers. The only basketball has been the Sun Belt tournament.

Lifer, please consider your source.

Oh yes you are correct... I must be a lier obvisouly. Why not... I should lie, it makes sense right...? Did you go to law school or something. Believe what you want, I could care less. I get around and am 100 percent confident in what I can say.

Please explain what motive I would have for lying? Were you there for the conversation in the booth? Please explain... What did you hear?

Oh, and all those ESPN guys just clamoring to work out at the C.H. Collins complex

They were there about a month ago to work the Ryan game. The same people do all the work for the metroplex. Outside of the longhorn network which comes out of Austin. The same people work every game. They are espn employees though they are mostly recent college grads trying to actually work their way up. And yes they would know what they are talking about because I asked why they film the hs games but not out at unt.

What games were they referencing? Now I understand the C.H. Collins comment. There is a difference in "working" and "working out. "

Worked out at... Meaning the location, not an actual workout. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem. I would still question what games they are referencing. ESPN has rarely, if ever, broadcast games from NT.

Maybe it includes espn 3? I have no idea ,we have been on there a few tomes before.

I can understand the motive they would have for not putting on UNT basketball in past years, but this is situation is different and different for UNT. Nation's #2 ranked player in McD3 vs. #7 in Tony Mitchell. 1st team All-American going against 2nd team All-American. #1 Mid-Major vs. #2 Mid-Major. They should be open to "flex-scheduling".

Oh well, UNT can force their hand by beating K-State, because even the consolation game at Madison Square Garden is on ESPN2. I believe the opening games at MSG are on ESPN3.

So you are saying these entry level college grads have the inside scoop on ESPN programming, which is about 100 levels above their pay grade?

I know, I know. Why do I even bother...

I understood that it was because ESPN did a search for North Texas State games and it came up empty. So that is why we aren't televised.

Just a quick fyi, I talked to George Bodenheimer, ESPN Chairman, while we were fishing in Lake Lavon the other day. He told me that he gauranteed that we would be on SportCenter if TM takes us deep in the tournament. Like, the Final Four. I'm just sayin'... "I get around, and yes I talked to him."
