You know, aside from the fighting and name-calling, and of course irrelevant comparisons between Houston and the DFW/Denton regions and pro sports, there have been quite a few valid points made by the Houston guys, most of which have been made by this board's members before. Not finding UNT apparel for so long in Denton, students wearing other schools' crap to class as if it changes the school that gave them the OPPORTUNITY for an education, and often dismal turnout at games...are we so insecure that someone else repeating what we've all said gives us a wedgie or something? Until the discussion devolved into flinging poo, it was heading towards a very valid point...that moving to Conference USA, having geographically closer opponents, and a bit of control over the airwaves due to more common demographics in said games will likely assist in solving many of those problems. Exaggerations aside, we now have the opportunity to get our attendance closer to UH's, as well as our apparel and other marketing, not to mention in-state TV exposure. They got their results sooner than we did, but it doesn't change the fact that it seems to be a good choice.

There's no reason to be insecure about problems we've already pointed out ourselves. The fact remains that our current course seems to be likely to resolve much of that, as the Houston guys seemed to be trying to agree with before everybody went flippin' crazy. The city/region/pro sports preferences are nearly irrelevant here. What matters is that they were actually agreeing with what many of us have always said, just in a more *ahem* competitive manner.

Btw, folks. Start taking notes tomorrow, because you guys are going to see a REAL chant. When one side screams Houston! And the other side screams Cougars! As opposed to that weak North Texas chant the cheerleaders try to get going at the games. I found an awesome UH button down shirt at Academy today that I think I will sport at the game.

I'm really growing tired of all the trash talking, name calling, race baiting, false accusations, and demeaning comments.

So for the next 2 weeks I will not watch any more election coverage.

Go away, this isn't a political forum.

I never knew that. A lot of people from Keller and some people from Southlake go to UH and the ones I've met don't seem that way at all. Hell, half of our players are from those areas. That may be partially true, but that could be said about anywhere.

Go away, this isn't a socio-economic/racial board.

I understand that you're frustrated that none of you old fossils at GMG can take down a young punk like me. It's okay, there are dozens more that will try (and fail) to do so.

Ya, your right.

You really told me.
