North Texas appears to be slowly improving although their record might not say that. The Mean Green probably shouldn't be judged by their record alone with a loss to LSU to kick off 2012 and a 35-21 defeat at Kansas State a week ago. Playing such heavyweights makes it difficult to tell what North Texas has until they face teams of equal talent but the UNT faithful have to be pleased the team after showing some grit against Kansas State. The yardage was about equal with the Wildcats holding a slight edge, 373-353. The difference was every thing the Mean Green did was short and neant to control the clock. UNT totaled around 150 yards but only 3.5 yards per try while the passing of Derek Thompson (25-28/208) was nothing more than an extended hand off. The game was probably a bit closer than the final score with K-State returning a kick 96 yards but KSU seemed to be in control.

Troy has shown the ability to move the football which has always been a strength but mistakes have been their Achilles Heel. North Teaxas has to keep the Trojans attack off the field with their short gain, clock eating attack that hopefully scores once in a while. If they control the ball I'm lookimg their way...
