I was going to post some thoughts on UNT’s loss to Kansas State last night, but stayed in the one hotel left on the planet without wireless.

UNT really did turn out a remarkable performance.

The Mean Green hung with one of the top teams in the country until the Wildcats superior talent took over.

UNT’s offensive line is everything it was billed to be heading into the season. The Mean Green’s top two running backs — Brandin Byrd and Antoinne Jimmerson — picked up 129 yards between them.

Derek Thompson had his best night throwing the ball since last season, connecting on a remarkable 25 of his 28 attempts for 208 yards and a touchdown.

Towards the end of the game, I left the KNTU stream to listen to the KSU broadcast. Their commentators were really complimentary of North Texas and displayed none of the " we overlooked them" sediment I read elsewhere. But what was really interesting is that every commercial seemed to be for fertilizer, seeds, large animal vets, or co-op services. You get the impression they are indeed really in the middle of nowhere!

I watched last night's game and have no voice left to show for it today. I saw the score out of Ford Field this morning. I chortle in the general direction of the collar poppers and like very, very much the program I see developing in little ole' Denton.

The idea of superior talent is an opinion not a fact, subjective. But I can see that you are arguing our team is inferior to KState. I will get the Tar can someone get the feathers?

Vito did not need to use that terminology, to me he used it as a back handed shot. He can stick it as far as I am concerned.

The fact that Vito bitched and moaned in his blog about being locked out of Dodge's practices, yet accepts Mac doing the same thing without a peep tells me he picks and chooses his facts.

His personal biases show through in his writing, just like about every other journalist.

And of course K-State has superior athletes. They are ranked #15 in the nation, aren't they?
