This is more a question for the gurus... Patton's name is not mentioned much, even though he patiently sat out last season and many questioned Johnny giving him a spot and wondered whether he would be an "impact" player.

How big an impact can Patton have for us this season?

Based on the one game, I have seen him play which he had a double double against NT, and was the best player on the floor that night; I would think he will be a big help. He can run and jump with almost anyone. It may have been his best game ever, but it shows his potential. I have to think a year off the court playing against Mitchell and the rest of the team has to have also helped.

I think he will gets lots of playing time and perhaps start. He looks to me to be the most versatile big on the team with the usual qualifier not named Mitchell. Holmen looks like he may be the best shooter of the bigs and Franklin is a good all around player but short for the inside. Coleman should be the best rebounder. Niko has a good offensive game but was a libility on the other side of the court last year. Jordan Williams is a wild card, if he has really gotten taller; with his talent he may force himself into the lineup.

At this point, I have no idea if Benford will stick with a three guard lineup like JJ used, based on his recruiting he may not. Whatever he uses I look for Patton to be a big part but how much depends on the development of J. Williams, Holmen and Coleman.
