"Immediately evacuate ALL buildings and get as far away as possible," the university says on its website.

Update at 11:14 a.m. ET: KXAN-TV reports that the university's Director of Communications, Rhonda Weldon, says the university got a call around 8:35 a.m. local time from a male with a middle eastern accent claiming to have placed bombs all over campus.

The caller claimed to be from the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization and that the bombs would go off in 90 minutes, KXAN reports..

President Williams Powers has been notified, and officials arenow evacuating all of the buildings out of an abundance of caution.

While you have to treat every threat as credible, I'm sure the authorities were well aware this isn't Al-Qaeda's M.O. They're not exactly a "call ahead" type. More of a "bomb a place and call you about it later" type.

I work 2 blocks south of campus. Pretty crazy to see hundreds or thousands of UT students and staff just hanging around our building and parking garages.

And what if that is where they actually put the bombs... in a car in those garages..Crazy..

This is actually straight out of the terrorist handbook...car bombs are much easier to place, more destructive and can be used to kill not just students but first responders too.

You have to ask yourself, does anyone recall a time a bomber called in his intent to harm students and then actually detonated a bomb?
