For the most part, those responsible for the "nosedive" are teams that are leaving--Houston and Memphis. Southern Miss may not be good as they were a year ago, but they're still a pretty good team. Jumping on them for a loss to Nebraska, in a game that was close for the first half? That's kinda dumb. And Holgorsen's comment about James Madison being a bigger test than Marshall is contrived on many levels--contrived to motivate his players for the upcoming game, and contrived to minimize Marshall's significance in the state of West Virginia. UAB has been the basement of C-USA for some time--no nosedive on their part to stay where they already were.

Understand that articles get more hits for being sensational than they do for being accurate.
