I don't disagree with you - but they need to be NAME cupcakes; the FCS teams and like won't do it for us.

We have been in the Sunbelt for many years and I still come across people that say "who?" when I tell them which universities are in the conference.

Playing and beating NAME cupcakes will meet a lot of needs.

Like Idaho.

I think everyone could associate a University with the state of Idaho. I really don't think you'll hear "Who?", when bringing up Idaho. Now, you may hear "Are they good?", to which we can answer "No.", and people will come out because they want to see the Mean Green win.

I would venture to say we would have more fans show up to see Idaho if they found out that Idaho is not good, over Ohio once they found out Ohio is good.

Has a lot more to do with a lack of commitment by UNT to athletics than it does too tough of a schedule. Then again, I guess we could just schedule FCS teams for all OOC games, right?

I know. When they figured out I could spell and do basic math, they told me I was much too smart to attend their little college. That and the fact that their dorms at the time were rented out Motel

Interesting suggestion - as I was typing my comment that is exactly the university I was thinking about as I typed.

I believe Idaho and New Mexico State would sign a home and home over the next few season with us in a heartbeat as they try to figure things out. They would be very winnable games for us. We just have to figure out a way to replace the money that we would be giving up by not playing the extra guarantee game each season.

The better our program gets, the more cupcakes that are available. Especially so-called 'name' cupcakes.

      We had Greeks at the game!

      When I was at UNT, there was no need to shutdown the tailgate. We all went in as a group from the tailgate and enjoyed the games. There were also Greek life members all over SGA. It was a main talking point that we needed to boost attendance and be part of that change. I don't know what's happened since then. In my experience, the students inclined towards the arts expressed animosity towards sports. Almost like there was jealousy at the attention and resources dumped in sports without realizing athletics are often the main link between a school and its alumni and therefore a big opportunity to attract donations to help fund other on campus projects. Those students geared towards the arts are more likely those to dye their hair as well. There are exceptions on all sides though.

      Yeah I'm well aware of the stereotypes, but go ahead and scan or meet the student crowds at the basketball and football games and get back with me about the greek/weirdo ratio. I mean you don't even need to scan the crowds, just go talk to anyone who was a talon in the last 25 years and get back to me about the various frats and sororities they have crossover with. I mean if it was the greeks pulling in all the support we wouldn't be creating a thread about how surprised we are that literally a few of them from one specific frat showed up to one specific game.

      We still on this bit? It can be both true that some blue haired people enjoy themselves an athletic event AND way more non blue haired people enjoy it more often, become lifelong fans, donors and season ticket holders more FREQUENTLY in comparison. You don't have to get on here and defend your hair dye saga event.
