This has been talked about before, but Coach Mac says no more 5 game home schedules. in 2013 we have:

What team would you like to bring to Apogee for the final OOC game?

I'd kind of like Washington State. I'm sure Leach would love to play in DFW for recruiting, and I think it would generate fan and media interst. Plus, after watching the lose to BYU, I think we have a good chance of winning. Maybe we could shcedule them for Sept. 7th . I think that would be opening weekend.

Not WSU as we already play Georgia that year. And don't judge any school by a new head coaches first game and along about a game over a year away. How about a Memphis, Colorado State, New Mexico (not state) or other Big East or Mountain West team. I would like to eventually play some Belt teams again but not for a few years.

How about Iowa State? Does Mac still has enough friends up there to make that happen?

Maryland, Duke, Wake, Colorado, UNLV. Colorado State!

I'm in line with this line of thinking. A name school that people will recognize from bigger conference but yet are on the lower tier of said conference. Iowa State, Purdue, Kentucky, Minnesota

9/7 @ Ohio

9/14 vs. Ball State.

No season opener at home until 2015 (unless the season starts August 31 next year)...but that is Tulsa, which will likely change. Surely we can't go 20 years without a season opener at home....can we?

No Sun Belt teams for at least 5 years.

We need to keep our distance from them to show we moved on to bigger and better things.

It would piss off a lot of the fan base to go to a new confrence to play a team no one really wanted to show up to or ever even heard of these past 10+ years of SBC.

Basketball is alright since we do have to schedule so many games but please don't for football.

The season does start 08/31 next year and RV has stated we are working on/finalizing a home opener.

If he is working on finding a home opener that tells me it is either 1) a D2 school or 2) a Sun Belt school.

Kind of hard to get a good name in on a short time frame and a narrow window of when they can play.

If it is a easy win FCS team, that is fine with me. Even the BCS schools do this. As for Sun Belt schools, just say no to that garbage.

UCLA, Cal, Washington would be good ones.

UCLA seems to like opening up in Texas, having played at Houston last year and at Rice this year.

Time to make a North Texas recruiting stop.

I agree, but i wouldnt mind playing TXST. They'd bring a good crowd and we should win. Even with what happened in Houston this past weekend.

Good Point. I actually didn't even think about them. What I meant by Sun Belt are the group of teams we've been playing for years that we want nothing to do with anymore. TSU (the sun belt version) could become a decent OOC rivalry.

The three best that I saw in a quick review are Baylor, Mississippi State and Oregon State. All three already have two home games scheduled for 2014.

Baylor would be tough but it might be the most doable because they are so close. It should assure an Apogee sellout. The only Sun Belt team that might interest me is Louisiana. I'd make the return trip just for the food.

Lafayette or Monroe?
