Small TypeQuarterback Caleb Woodward rushed for 152 yards and three scores and also threw a 46-yard touchdown pass as visiting Leander dominated Connally 35-7 Friday night in a season opener.

After punting on its opening possession, Leander — the seventh-ranked team in the AP preseason Class 4A poll — piled up consecutive touchdown drives of 80, 35, 36 and 46 yards in the first half, helped by Connally turnovers.

After the fast-paced first half, both teams' offensive units struggled on third down in the second, and the only scoring play came on a 2-yard dive by Woodward with 5:14 to play.

Connally's LaDaedrix Payton rushed for a team-high 88 yards while quarterback Dajon Williams completed 18 of 29 passes for 156 yards and scored a rushing touchdown.

Here's an update on Darvin Kidsy.

I couldn't find any stats but he did return a kickoff for a TD.

"Down 16-7 with 3:57 left in the first half the Knights’ Ashuris Eady-Amin returned a conversion attempt 97 yards to two points, followed by an 86-yard touchdown return on the ensuing kickoff by Darvin Kidsey to pull within one point after a missed point-after kick."

Also, for what it's worth ESPN rated him 2* 67 Grade, #192 WR today

http://espn.go.com/c...50/darvin-kidsy

They have D. Williams 40 listed at 5.14? Is that correct?

On his highlights it says he ran a 4.63. He probably ran that 5.14 at a camp and that is the only official time ESPN has, but don't let that scare you. He is mobile and will be fast enough to escape the pocket at times and will be effective running read option plays, just don't expect him to be Vince Young or Braxton Miller.

I hope he never ran a 5.14 in his football playing life.
