Talons are a shame

As are those in charge who let it happen.

Want to play with electric cars? Go buy a POS civic from the junk yard for $100 and toy around with that instead.

At least the A is reversable...so they say?

These folks collectivley couldn't even keep one of the most simplistic combustible engines ever designed in the U.S. running. I'll be curious to see when in 5, 10 or 15 years from now their "Project" falls prey to similar decay and none of them familiar enough with it are still around or care enough to keep it's maintenance up.

"The team installed a NetGain Warp9 motor and a lead acid battery pack, and says the classic car will be able to exceed speeds of 30 miles an hour and have a range of about 30 miles."

By the way, when this was first being sold to folks on campus one use was for university promotions by participating in area parades, and the range was said to be about 90 miles. Now that's down to 30 miles with a top speed of 30mph. So now for it to participate in say the Fort Worth Parade of lights at Christmas time it's gonna have to be trailered, just one more thing they don't currently have and will have to keep up with, find someone responsible enough to load and unload without damaging it, then tow it.

UNT is a institution of learning not a classic car museum. We have no traditions that are truly original except, hold on, our University champions green technology, has Green in its nickname and now has merged the past with the future with battery powered Model A. That my friends makes us original, it carves out an identity. It will be discussed on televised games much like those windmills some of you hate so much. I love everything about this.

..."University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point: The school is known for its conservation education major. This area of study, the first of its kind in the United States, actually was made available decades ago – in 1946 – and preceded the 1970 founding of the university’s College of Natural Resources. While at the school, students can study topics such as natural resource management, wildlife, water resources and forestry.

So unique........and historic.

Rebuilt in 2007 with all original ford parts by Michael Maher? 5 years later it's in disrepair and has to be rebuilt with crap that isn't original Ford parts? I'll bet Michael is sick to his stomach.

Nothing against the guys that wanted to repair this thing and put their twist on it, but that is really disappointing.
