Sorry - but to look at this as anything other than 100% positive news is a stretch. Losing CJ and JW last season was painful for all of us but not near as painful as it was for them. They took their lumps and supported the team from the bench every single game. To bounce back and get things back on track with all the changes going on is a big accomplishment for these guys. I look forward to the day they walk the stage and get their degree. I am very proud of the both of them. GMG!

Do you know something, or is this just a positive assumption?

Definitely an assumption.

If you think about it, last fall was their first semester here. So poor grades during that semester are the only grades they had.

Now they have another semester's worth of grades, as well as whatever classes they took during the summer sessions to sort-of "pad" their GPA's a little bit to where they won't be as impacted if they do not do well in a class this Fall.

If you have $10k invested in stocks and you lost $5k, you lost half of your money.

If you have $50k invested in stocks and you lost $5k, you only lost 10%.

I think you're right on target, as painful as it was they only had one semester and that's not as big a hole to dig out of as when you have a year or two of bad grades to overcome. I still feel it was inexcusable to have that happen to them in the first semester but the good side is it was caught early enough that it can be corrected fairly quickly.

Congrats to JW and CHris on working their way back. I had my doubts they could get it done. Hopefully they now realize the importance of the student in student athlete, and it would be great to see both walk across the stage with a 3.0.

Cam Montgomery says that should be the new goal.
