Is there a role for Jamize Olawale?

"Which player fighting for a roster spot made a positive impression?

His name is hard to pronounce. But now people know it. That’s a positive sign for Jamize Olawale, the Cowboys’ rookie fullback-turned-running back who accounted for 60 yards from scrimmage Saturday. A 6-1, 238-pound product of North Texas, Olawale has the size and strength pound away at opponents.

During the second quarter, he demonstrated that might when he barged into the end zone and finished off a two-yard run that resulted in the Cowboys’ first touchdown of the preseason. But Olawale, who led the Cowboys in rushing for the second consecutive game, isn’t just powerful. He’s also quick.

Olawale flashed that acceleration on a 10-yard pass from Romo in the first quarter, turning up field to gain a first down."

Are he and LD trying for the same position?

Sort of... but they are very different cats. JO is much larger and appears to block very well and not shabby catching short passes from what I have seen. Might be a short yardage person and good to have in backfield to block for QB. He actually may be what the Cowboys need in a pro game more than LD. Wouldn't it be strange if both made it.
