I'm in for a few bracelets. Are we on, or just discussing this?

We are working on getting on. Just spent some time on the phone with Rolando Rivas in the Promotions Dept. to discuss how we can use Mean Green and the SOW on the bracelet. FYI....if we use the SOW it may have to be a white bracelet with green lettering. Wheels are moving its just that it isn't as simple as ordering from a Chinese company and using the trenchcoat sales technique.

It is small, but it looks to be an eagle with a beautiful woman in her birthday suit being held in his talons.

James, care to clarify?

It is a monster that is part awesome Eagle and part man who captured a hot peice of booty. I believe it is was made by Boris Vallejo. My only complaint is it is not green.

I would be ok with donating proceeds (after cost) to the Andrew Smith Scholarship fund on behalf of GoMeanGreen.com

I would be willing to sell some of these at Rubber Gloves and I would let everyone know that part of the proceeds would be going to a Andrew Smith Scholarship Fund. There is no doubt I could sell these things out. Since I have been serving drinks in Denton for a long time, I have been able to meet a lot of ex UNT students and current students. Let me know if you order them. I am on board.

Im curious. Why have you been on the phone with the Athletic Department? Was it to order from them, or to get them to order them for you, or to see who to hand over the money raised for said scholarship?

This sort of thing is NEVER as easy as some folks seem to think it is. I applaud your efforts in trying to do something positive for the program. We can also sell them at this year's GMG.Com Flag football game which will be played again this year at APOGEE Stadium on the day of the Spring Football game...so that would be a great venue to sell as well. Thanks for taking the lead in this...great to see folks being positive and doing things that help create a positive vibe around the Mean Green.

If the proceeds went to a UNT scholarship fund, you would likely be able to get the university's permission to use the logos.

You don't need anyone's permission to purchase, then resell, an officially license CLC product, unless your wanting to resell on property you don't own. The university logos are already approved for this purpose, and have been so since April 2003.

Depending on when they get turned around, I'd be happy to try to sell some at the watching parties in Allen.

I had a green rubber bracelet that said "I BLEED GREEN" a while back. I wore it all the time, but it is hiding somewhere for the past 2 years.

I hope it's warm and cozy, wherever it may be hiding.

The reason I contacted the University (not the AD) was to see if we can use Go Mean Green on the bracelet. I also wanted to include a small version of the SOW on it as well. The red tape that the University gave me was pretty steep. Needing to apply for a license to sell them at events (yes this is all for the Andrew Smith Fund) and to use only school approved vendors. Obviously that cuts deep into the amount to produce said bracelets and in turn how much we can even donate to the fund and it just gets to be pointless. I wouldn't be surprised though if you were to see bracelets like these pop up for sale at some of the games this year :ninja:

You don't need permission to buy existing products, but I thought the thread was about creating a product and selling it for charity.

You are correct. Anyone that would want to sell them, even if it is for a charity would need permission from UNT.
