I was checking the current football roster on Meangreensports.com.

Looks like player information has been updated.

Check it out- I hope this link works. I used the "sort by position" tab

http://www.meangreensports.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=9053&SPID=562&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=1800&SORT_ORDER=6&q_

SEAON=2012&PRINTABLE_PAGE=

I count 16 DB's, 9 DE's, 7 DT's, 13 LB's, 14 OL players, 1 Punter, 1 PK, 4 QB's, 8 RB's, 9 TE's, and 11 WR's.

Total 93 players

Note the weight gains and the weight loss on some players.

With 16 DB's on the roster, plus any incoming walk-on's, I certainly hope the secondary coaches

can find the starting players they need.

I'm seeing 23 dbs

We almost have more TEs then we do WRs.

Interested in seeing if Carl Caldwell can provide us with anything.

We have some big young TEs with the Smiths and Cooper Jones?

My dark horse candidates at RB are the two freshman from Louisiana. Mark Lewis and Jamarcus Jarvis.

We only lose 2 OL, 1 DT, 1 DB, 1 DE, 1 LB after this season. we are going to have a lot of returning starters next season. We are starting to see some depth created.

I'm really hoping Sir Calvin or McDorman can step up and earn some pt this season.

We're starting to see some good size at D-end

There are some noticable differences for sure:

Freshman RB Mark Lewis at 217

Cooper Jones up to 224

Jimmerson up to 219

Freshman LB Jarrian Roberts at 238

Zach Orr down to 223

Chad Polk up to 226

J Phillips up to 223

Daryl Mason up to 233

Derek Akunne down to 238

Kendall Wasington up to 220

Grant Shaw up to 302

Antonio Johnson up to 311

Marcus Smith up to 238

Austin Orr up to 268

Freshman LB LaJaylin Smith at 228

Freshman DE Brad Horton at 6'6" 240

Freshman OL Ryan Rentfro at 6'4" 309

Freshman OL Connor Trussell at 6'5" 295

Freshman DE Malik Dilonga at 6'4" 248

Freshman DE Dutton Watson at 6'3" 261

The difference in the physical frames of these players, especially those recruited in the last 2 classes are very noticeable. And the strength program by Coach Wintrich is definitely paying dividends. Now let's hope these guys can stay healthy through fall camp and win a few more ballgames than the 2011 squad!

And wow Cantly at 6=4, 333!!! That's NFL size!

Remember when just about everyone wrote him off as a project that would never materialize?

I hope he can capitalize this year. We need someone to anchor the interior of the line. His size is obviously there. Now, can coach Nelson (and I'm sure McCarney is active in DL coaching as well) get his technique perfected, and does he have the drive to be All-conference, or better?

The other one I would keep a close watch on is LaJaylin Smith. He was a SEC caliber recruit and could make an immediate impact for us on special teams. I can't wait to see this kid and all the rest on the field!

Sampson at 6'5" could be a real weapon. I sure hope he can catch under presure, and give us another option in goal line situations.

Realize not a lot of glamour in the positions, but only 1 kicker and 1 punter could be a problem

Coach Mac brought a Kicker, Punter, and Long Snapper in as preferred Walk-Ons. I believe all three are in school and participating in the summer work-outs.

The way we block on special teams, it will be a problem.

At the Plano meet the coaches event, Jimmerson was the player that Coach Mac said to keep an eye on for next season.
