A guy that graduated in 1988 and lives in my neighborhood found out that I was a big UNT fan and approached me about getting season tickets. After some conversations back and forth, I got on a 3-way call with him and the ticket office and helped him get it set up. I was glad to help him and am excited to have he and his family be a part of our tailgating scene and the games.

He opted for 4 seats in the family pack section. It was a good way to get his feet wet and get exposed to everything at a reasonable cost. The salesman in me thought about trying to upsell him to better seats, Mean Green Club memberships etc but I decided not to. I guess I have become so confident in the whole package there now, with Apogee and the Hill and the program itself under Mac that I truly believe once you get someone in the door they will quickly realize the value of the whole package and then upgrading will become a logical next step. It felt good to help him out. By having him in my group now I have just added to my own fun and experience on gameday so it's truly a win-win.

I am posting this because I have to believe that there are so many like him out there. Guys and gals who attended or graduated from UNT and just need a little encouragement and testament to get off the dime and commit. I think that is where our strength lies -- in numbers. If we can each try to get more of our neighborhood, friends, family whatever to get to these games they will come back and in turn they will bring their circles. The more that I think about it the more excited I get about the future.

The more the merrier. I foresee the following conversation:

Friend: How come you guys can park over here?

Harry: We are members of the mean green club. You have to be a member to park over here with us.

Friend: How much does it cost?

Harry: About $41.50 a game when we have 6 home games, and you get admittance to the mean green room before basketball games for that also. Give them $5 and you get a meal and lots of alcohol before the basketball game.

Friend: How is the basketball team looking...

And y'all can figure out the rest.

Good work, Harry.

Got my mom to buy the family pack too. It gets her onboard, lets her see her granddaughter more in the fall and gets my two nephews to he games (my daughters favorite part). For $240 you literally cannot beat it.

It will be a sad day when I graduate and have to pay for my tickets haha. Good to see some more people coming on board.

OK, let's set the record straight here on the Mean Green Room before basketball games...minimum donation to the Mean Green Club: $500 and it's $10 a person I believe, not $5. Someone out there with a better memory, please do correct me if I am wrong.

It was $5 some years ago, but things cost more now...I a good with the cost...it's still a great bargain and a big benefit as far as I am concerned for my Mean green Club donation...besides, my bride and I can drink enough beer and eat enough good food to make it a great deal for us! Dinner, Beer and a game...DATE NIGHT!

You have to be kidding! It's the best value in college sports. All you can eat buffett, and it's typically awesome like Frilly's, Rudys, etc.

At the $250 level you have access before women's games. At the $500 level you have access before men's games. Plus you can bring 3 or 4 friends, I went down there probably 4 times last season. I hung out with UNT90grad, Kram, and took friends everytime. It's actually $10. It's the best return on investment that the school does.

Harry,

What section did they settle on?

Word on the street is Sec 110 is where all the cool kids hang out...seriously, we get the shade first.

I do believe that they did say section 110 -- I know they are in the nw corner and have a diagonal view of the field (not straight ahead) with a good view of the main diamond vision board.

I thought it was you and 1 guest for a $250 donation and you and 2 guest for $500?

But, then again, I was wrong about the $5 price...

Still a great value.
