.

Of course it is ... but did you ask "is gas it a fossil fuel" or to just "name fossil fuels".if you did they likely will name oil and coal first and likely stop.... you likely will get a big difference in responses..... They know it is a fossil fuel but don't think to answer that way.. A lot in random sampling questions is how you ask..... and unfortunately people who often report results don't report results as the question was asked... and the results reported is flawed. I teach stat. ..

A lot if not most fossil fuel discussions is about pollution and usually they are talking about oil and coal.. Going to electricity eliminates a lot but where that come come.. in much of the USA... gas fired generators mostly at least in this area ( not Nukes, wind, solar or water power so much) and we have decreased oil and coal usage which messed up the atmosphere more..... That is also why a lot of people dislike the Keystone pipeline... that would be very dirty oil coming in from Canada (highly polluting oil) Oil from inside of USA is much cleaner burning and/or processing.... Don't hear West Texans* or American oil areas yelling "build that pipeline". Better for Texas economy if it is not built. Besides another big objection is the route proposed... it is awful and very political as well .. It would provide temporary jobs (and brags) for some Congressmen's districts..that explains the stupid route mostly.. over developed areas instead of further west over sparser areas and cheaper to build.. .

*People who don't live here or Texans that don't understand it often do.

.

Always defending those liberal Dems, eh? Even when they are clearly wrong.

LMAO!!! You knew this had to come up?

Mother jones.com: "One Reason It May Be Harder to Find Flight 370: We Messed Up the Currents".

http://m.motherjones.com/environment/2014/03/climate-change-malaysia-airlines-370-search

Scientists say man-made climate change has fundamentally altered the currents of the vast, deep oceans where investigators are currently scouring for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight, setting a complex stage for the ongoing search for MH370. If the Boeing 777 did plunge into the ocean somewhere in the vicinity of where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean, the location where its debris finally ends up, if found at all, may be vastly different from where investigators could have anticipated 30 years ago.

Global warming knows the whereabouts of Jimmy Hoffa's grave!

Global warming retrospectively found at fault for ALL missing ships, planes, trains, and automobiles inside the Bermuda Triangle!

Glow from Global Warming attracts alien spaceships!

Global warming! Global warming! Global warming!

Global warning is my new religion! I believe it on faith! Man said it, so it must be!

The fact that someone is trying to pry global warming into the top national news story about a PLANE HIJACKING should tell you everything you need to know about the new religious fanaticism that is Global Warming, or climate change, or whatever name they change it to next week to match the ever shifting "facts."

What hijacking?

I'm kinda shocked we never had a dedicated thread for this...

We have to wait until a terrorist is affiliated with the rep or dem party, dummie.

Or at least is in charge of a country and attempting to rule the world. Oh, wait, that Keiv thread...

Ah Stix....., You do understand that the methane in cow farts was derived from the plants the cows ate. The plants obtained the carbon in the methane from the atmosphere. The carbon in the atmosphere came from some previous cow fart (et al.). Cow farts aren't the problem.

Again, the problem is the release of fossil C by human activities.

As you say, cow farts aren't the problem, but still, the White House wants to control it.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/03/28/fact-sheet-climate-action-plan-strategy-cut-methane-emissions

Agriculture: In June, in partnership with the dairy industry, the USDA, EPA and DOE will jointly release a “Biogas Roadmap” outlining voluntary strategies to accelerate adoption of methane digesters and other cost-effective technologies to reduce U.S. dairy sector greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent by 2020.

Not that it will change ‘90’s mind, but there is a new report out on climate change from the IPCC. The BBC has a short write-up - http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-26810559

from the report – “The impacts of global warming are likely to be "severe, pervasive and irreversible”

This latest Summary for Policymakers document highlights the fact that the amount of scientific evidence on the impacts of warming has almost doubled since the last report in 2007.

Michel Jarraud, secretary-general of the World Meteorological Organization, said that, previously, people could have damaged the Earth's climate out of "ignorance".

"Now, ignorance is no longer a good excuse," he said.

If ignorance is no longer a justification that leaves only ….

You finish the sentence.

That may have been the dumbest thing I ever read, talk about fear mongering. These are the people that would tell you the world was flat and use fear of falling off as a control.

If they tell you that driving 90mph into a brick wall is stupid, is that fear-mongering too?

It's good business for them. And, as demonstrated before, when they can rile up governments, they can get a free hand into taxpayer money as well. As with everything else, follow the dollar.

Televangelists and climate change pushers are close cousins. Each has found a fear they can profit from. And, there are plenty of weakminded that will follow both camps.

Both are into the public and taxpayers. Televangelists have their tax breaks; climate spookers have their research and grant dollars.

Follow...the dollar. Al Gore and Jim Bakker. Same guy.

It is the new religion for those who don't like the old.

Except this one stars man as his own God.

If you think about it, of course global warming makes perfect sense to those without religious convictions. It fits conveniently into their view of the world.

And their televangelists are the fear mongers of the type quoted in that article.
