If it can any way be turned into a racial topic or if anyone can turn it somehow into racism, Emmitt is your guy. Well done, Sir...you the man!

And if anyone can fail to follow the flow of a thread and then attempt to talk down to others based on this failure...KRAM's your guy.

Oh, and I didn't even need to -1 you...that's how widespread the understanding of your irrelevance is. That you fell flat on your face running to argue alongside a guy who wouldn't want to partner with you to cure cancer simply ices the cake.

If we consider the gap between the founding of the country and the freeing of slaves a few short years, I don't see why you get so worked up about our current athletic administration.

Lets see....

The Saqqara Pyramids near Memphis were built with slave labor around 2630 BC.

So 2600 plus 1776,... That's 4,376 years of world wide slave practice.

And, from 1776 plus 11 for the convention (1887), plus another 78 to 1865 when the 13th amendment was ratified...... That's what, 102 years?

So it took the U.S. 102 years to end a 4,376 year old practice. That's a short time, historically speaking.

Not to be argumentative, but slaves didn't build the pyramids.

And, more to the point of the "founding fathers" and their greatness, shouldn't the question be asked "why did it take them ANY years to do away with a practice that they (according to your argument) clearly saw as wrong?" If they had tousands of years of evidence to support their position why not show the moral fortitude to do away with it upon ratification? I mean, it's not like they were starting a brand new nation where they could set the precedent.

Yet in a few short years they were ALL freed as our founders meant for them to be... 20 years before serfdom would end in Russia and 148 years and counting before its ended on the Ivory Coast, as the slave trade, child slave and sex trade is still in full motion there today.

Rick

I wouldn't call it a few short years. Sure, in reference to the history of slavery, but not in reference to those living it.

"Hey Toby, I know you've been shackled up, whipped, beaten, yelled at, deprived of food, shackled again, beaten, whipped again, and probably separated from your loved ones, but hey bro, it was only 20 years. It wasn't that long."

Wow, talk about the pot calling the kettle.....never mind, I would hate that quote to be taken as racist.

So, we can't complain about football sucking until 2106? What a cool grace period. Can't wait to get back out to Apogee and just focus on having a good time.

I heard Terry Jefferman owned and had relationships with his collection of salves. It is true he would be this exploitative of his healing ointments?

Was this the best derailing you could come up with? You've done much better before.

Yeah, I'm so sure? Regardless, there's about 700 years separating the 1st Dynasty from the 4th, when the Khufu pyramid was built.

True, but I mostly leave the derailings to KRAM these days.

You didn't bother reading the full article, huh?

I'd much rather the child have the opportunity for a happy and productive life than self-mutilate or kill her self. I'm sure it doesn't fit into your world-view, but gender dysphoria is a legit condition and the process that this child is currently under-going is a move to delay puberty to a point where she can, at a more mature age, decide how she identifies herself and continue to live her life in such a way.

Fortunately, it seems as though this family have consulted a strong collection of experts and seem to have strong communal and family support...that should really help with this difficult process over the next few years and would go a long way towards refuting those who would suggest that this is what happens when you let same-sex couples raise children...that some lesbian couple really just wanted a pretty little girl so they're just dressing their boy in dresses.

Not that I'm suggesting that was your motive, Surely YOU'RE not that sick of an individual.

Yeah, there's so called experts who have all kinds of stupid ideas in how to fix everything these days. The non stop over-drugging of kids for this and that has bad horrible results and I've lived it and see it in the field and saw it when I taught too. Any teacher can give countless examples.

Oh well. To each his own... Or her own...wait?

What kind of home is this child being brought up in that he "threatens genital mutilation on himself" at age 7?

You know, I identified as Superman when I was about 6 or 7--I would have been thrilled to have that surgery.

When I was 7, I accidentally shut my business in a drawer I bumped closed with my stomach. Best lesson I ever learned about self respect and situational awareness.

I guess what I'm saying is believe in your dreams.

That should never be done to an 8 year old...... what if he get older and decides he is male after all ... really stupid.

--I do agree with Rick on one thing..... too much medication etc. is given to kids.... I had students with AD and it was obvious they just could not sit sstill or concentrate ....BUT ... I have had some taking the meds that had no business taking it.. Profitable I guess for Dr. Even heard of a kid tested that didn't have it.??? Too many just go home an sit, play video games, watch TV etc. instead of burning off excess energy. (also see classes 50 years ago .. kids were thinner...our fat kids look rather normal now ) I support neighborhood schools for several reasons... When I was a kid... kids walked/rode bikes to school (exercise) and played outside a lot more... Mega sized schools are cheaper to run but are worse for the kids and education. ( I would even argue more bullying ) Extreme conservatives go for cheap... not quality.
