One weird thing is how can Texas spend more than $567 thousand dollars, or $23 thousand dollars per recruit. They could get half of their recruiting class with a postcard. The vast majority of their recruits live within 300 miles of Austin. Most Texas schoolboys would accept an offer from UT-Austin over that of any other university. They have far fewer battles for recruits than probably any other institution. They should have a lower number of recruit targets because they get fewer rejections. So, how in the world can they spend the equivalent of the cost of a new car (okay, half...I realize they have to contact more than 25) to get the recruiting class that they want.

Imagine the non-Big 12 schools that must contact four times that amount and make more visits and phone calls in order to get a quality class. If they're that inefficient then no wonder they need the LHN to cover their costs.
