Preston Barta / Contributing Writer "The Dark Knight Rises" is easily one of this year's most anticipated films. After the hype that the near-perfect “The Dark Knight created in 2008, this finale generated high expectations. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you may rest easy because the Bat has arrived, and the result is a stunning conclusion to an epic trilogy. Just got back from watching this. IMHO, one of the greatest film trilogies of all time.

A new high water mark has been set for the superhero genre.

I don't think anyone can ever make another Batman film. Ever.

Inclined to agree about the trilogy. The 3rd brought them all together and I really enjoyed watching the first two all over again.

But I bet they reboot the thing and make more Batmans. Nolan won't be involved though.

They were really hard pressed to outdue Heath Ledger's joker but I thought they did a real nice job with Bane -- dude scared the hell out of me! In fact I think Bane stole the show!

I liked that Bane was just as destructive as The Joker but he was purposeful with it. The Joker was all about chaos for the sake of chaos.

But that's why Joker has always been the best Batman adversary. He's the epitome of chaos and Batman is the stand in for order. They each define themselves by the other. A total yin/yang relationship.

Pulled in just under $161 million for the weekend. 3rd biggest opening all-time and biggest 2-D opening ever. Pretty remarkable considering the tragedy in CO.

Is it? One event doesn't usually stop people from doing what they want. People still fly in planes and go to school.

According to movie execs it was surprising. People fly on planes and go to school because they usually HAVE to. Going to a movie is completely different. I don't think most people feared for their safety because of the shooting, but just didn't feel like going after what happened. I didnt feel that way, but I bet a lot of people did.

Bad things have happened at concerts, people still go. Just because something bad happens somewhere else doesn't mean that people will change their weekend plans.
