you're being way to sensitive. that show is like listening to a few 8th grade boys mimic they're favorite on-air guys.

They're not professionals. They're college kids who are probably not getting a whole lot of good guidance.

So did anyone actually listen and can give a recap of what Coach Benford had to say?

I listened. Coach mentioned a couple times that he's been coaching for 20 years and played at Texas Tech. He said he believes the team has a legitimate chance at being ranked in the top 25 this year. He said he heard Mitchell was the best player at the first camp he went to and in the top 3 at LeBron's camp. He said the team isn't as good as Marquette, but is comparable. He plugged a few other players and the high schools they went to. He encouraged folks to get out and buy season tickets. He said that this year the NCAA has allowed individual drills and theyve been going through that. They then asked about the Marquette player coming to the Mavs. He said we'll be surprised at how good he is.

That's the best I can do with no notes and typing on my iPhone.

It's a learning experience for those kids. Isn't that what college is for?

That's like saying allowing a kid to fail out and forcing them to go to community college for a semester is a learning experience. It would be better to teach them how not to fail then to make them learn the hard way. There is a complete lack of leadership at KNTU which doesn't provide them the tools to be successful before they get on the 88.1. That is what makes much (not all) of the broadcasting sound like a low budget high school radio station. Low expectations with little guidence is the problem. Russ Campbell needs to be replaced if the University wants KNTU to improve.

Thanks, just listened to the show archive at unticket.com. Benford sounds pretty excited!

For a station that is so terrible there sure are a lot of alums out there working in the industry.

Just as an add on to some already good breakdowns of the interview, Coach Benford continually focused on us getting better on defense. Said that with the talent we have offensively that scoring the basketball will be the least of our concerns.
