Remember Bob Hope At UNT?

SUMG and I were talking about this today.

Bob Hope had come up to Denton to entertain before a packed SuperPit in either the summer of 1973 or 1974.

Hayden Fry was in attendance at that SuperPit extravaganza and gave Mr. Hope a Mean Green cap. If you have ever seen the movie "Coach" about Fry's first year in Denton, you would have seen a film clip of Coach Fry giving Bob Hope that cap.

SUMG also reminded me that Bob Hope was made an honorary member of the Mean Green Club.

Thanks for the memories, Mr. Bob Hope, one great American.

Were any of you older nestors at that Bob Hope get-together at the Super Pit back in 1973 or '74? I was not but am interested to know what all he was talking about that night if you can recall.

Bob Hope was not a great man, he was seedy and overrated.
